Harvard Jewish group blasts Ivy League president for ‘disappointing’ testimony on antisemitism

After Harvard President Claudine Homosexual wouldn’t say that the requires the genocide of Jews was a breach of the Ivy League college’s code of conduct, the native campus Jewish group referred to as on the president to “take motion” to guard Jewish college students.

When responding to Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, questions on Harvard’s guidelines for bullying and harassment, President Homosexual mentioned that speech that qualifies as harassment “depends upon the context.”

The Jewish pupil group, Harvard Hillel, mentioned that President Homosexual’s “refusal” to “draw a line” on threatening antisemitic speech is “profoundly stunning.”

“President Homosexual’s refusal to attract a line round threatening antisemitic speech as a violation of Harvard’s insurance policies is profoundly stunning given specific provisions throughout the conduct code prohibiting this sort of bullying and harassment,” the Harvard Hillel mentioned in a press release posted on social media.

The group mentioned that they’re appalled by the president’s lack of motion and questioned the president’s “skill to guard Jewish college students on Harvard’s campus.”

“We’re appalled by the necessity to state the plain: A name for genocide in opposition to Jews is at all times a hateful incitement of violence. President Homosexual’s failure to correctly condemn this speech calls into query her skill to guard Jewish college students on Harvard’s campus,” the Harvard Hillel mentioned. “Chants to “globalize the intifada,” an endorsement of violent terrorist assaults in opposition to Jewish and Israeli civilians, and “from the river to the ocean,” an eliminationist slogan meant to deprive Jews of their proper to self-determination in Israel, have change into tragically routine at Harvard.”

“President Homosexual’s testimony fails to reassure us that the College is severely involved concerning the antisemitic rhetoric pervasive on campus. “President Homosexual’s testimony at this time was gorgeous and completely disappointing,” Miller wrote in an X publish.  “Tackling campus antisemitism will take head-on resolve, not the weak equivocation that was on show at this time.”

Homosexual, who testified in Congress on Tuesday, December 5 alongside MIT President Sally Kornbluth and College of Pennsylvania President Elizabeth Magill, beforehand denounced Hamas’ terrorist assault in opposition to Israel on October 7.

Following criticism from pro-Palestinian pupil teams, Homosexual launched a video message two days later saying that although the college doesn’t “punish or sanction” individuals for expressing polarizing views, it doesn’t imply that it endorses them.
