The federal government has determined to ban manufacturing, possession and imports of electrical detonator in view of safety issues and public security.
The federal government has determined to ban manufacturing, possession and imports of electrical detonator from April 2025 in view of safety issues and public security.
In a notification, the Division for Promotion of Trade and Inner Commerce (DPIIT) has mentioned that the central authorities is of the opinion that electrical detonator is of a ”harmful” character.
It’s expedient for the safety issues and public security to ban the manufacturing, possession and import of electrical detonator, it mentioned.
It added that the federal government, after session with stakeholders of explosives trade, within the public curiosity has determined that its manufacturing shall be fully phased out by the top of 2024-2025.
“The central authorities hereby prohibits the manufacture, possession and import of the electrical detonator…all through the nation with impact from the first day of April, 2025,” the notification, dated September 29, has mentioned.
